OVER 30 YEARS OF EXPERIENCE IN REAL ESTATE AND BUSINESS LAW
465 HEALDSBURG AVENUE, DOWNTOWN HEALDSBURG 707-433-5297
I represent people in all manner of business and real estate transactions and problems as well as wills, trusts, and trust administration or probate. Contracts of all kinds, including buying, selling, borrowing, defaults, exchanges, and entity formation. Property transfer and deed preparation is something I am often called upon to prepare and assist with. Also, being in Healdsburg I have experience in the wine industry from wineries to growers. I represent small vineyard owners, vineyard management companies, and small to medium wineries in Sonoma and Napa Counties as well as small and large businesses. I also deal with rural roads, easements, boundary issues, and title. I have formed home owners' associations and written and enforced their bylaws. I enjoy working with owners with issues between them and the HOA.
I am now associated with Strategic Property Exchanges, LLC and offer assistance with large and complex IRC 1031 real property exchanges. This includes reverse exchanges, multiple property exchanges and standard delayed exchanges.
I can help with issues related to foreclosure and short sale explaining liability issues on the note balance and debt forgiveness. If I can not assist you in your matter I can refer you to a qualified friend who will. I always suggest ADR.. i.e. alternative dispute resolution, and do not encourage litigation except in the case of necessity. I am associated with experienced trial attorneys and personal injury attorneys to who I can offer you an introduction. I like to think of myself as the one attorney anyone can pick up the phone and call and get straight answers, a fair deal, and be given either the services they require or directed to another attorney such as myself who will help them fairly and at reasonable costs.
I graduated from DePaul University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Commerce. This degree includes advanced courses in finance, management, accounting and marketing. I graduated from Empire College of Law with the highest gpa in my four year class.
I have always enjoyed legal research and writing. In law school I worked as a law clerk in local law offices. Since I began practicing I have had articles published in the "California Real Estate Reporter", the Sonoma County Bar "Bar Briefs", and other publications. I served on the editorial board of the California State Bar's real property law section's publication, the "California Real Estate Reporter" and the Mathew Bender publication "California Transaction Guide". I especially enjoyed writing a portion of a brief submitted to the California State Supreme Court dealing with the issue of the agreed boundary doctrine.
As to practical experience, I have planted and farmed two vineyards and formed and managed the companies that owned and operated them. I know the strains and troubles of starting and running a business today and the issue of making ends meet.
I would be pleased to assist you in any matter I can.
